How to Prepare a Hot Tub for Removal

Before Reset arrives to remove a portable hot tub, the spa needs to be drained and safely disconnected, the access route needs to be understood, and the keep/remove scope needs to be clear. This preparation checklist separates the customer’s readiness steps from the removal work being quoted.

Before and after hot tub removal from a red-gravel side yard beside a Peoria home
Peoria, October 1, 2026: removal from a red-gravel side yard. The first photograph already shows exterior panels removed; it is not an untouched spa. View full-size photo.

Confirm what the quote covers

A portable spa can have a separate lid, steps, loose panels and equipment around it. Tell Reset which items are part of the pickup and which must remain. A photograph of the area is helpful, but a written list resolves details that a picture cannot explain.

The Peoria project used here documents dismantling and removal beside a home. Its earlier views already show opened exterior panels, and its cleared-footprint image records that specific removal result. It should not be read as a promise that every spa starts in the same condition or uses the same handling sequence.

Arrange drainage and safe disconnection

The tub must be drained and safely disconnected before removal. Tell Reset the current status when requesting a quote, including any preparation that has not yet been arranged. Do not describe a spa as disconnected simply because it has been switched off or is no longer used.

This is a removal-planning guide, not electrical instructions. Have an appropriate qualified professional handle any electrical disconnection that is needed. Discuss drainage with the relevant property or service professional if the correct arrangement is unclear. Reset can review removal readiness once those separate preparations have been addressed.

Make the agreed route available

Photograph the route from the spa to the proposed loading area. If ordinary loose belongings block a passage, identify them in the inquiry and discuss whether they are being moved, kept or included in the removal. Keep children and pets away from the work area during handling.

Do not undertake structural changes just to match a presumed removal method. Gates, decks, attached covers and landscaping may require a separate discussion. Send current photographs if access changes between the first quote and the appointment, especially if a contractor has started other work around the spa.

Separate the cleared footprint from the next project

After a spa is removed, its old location may still need a different trade. Surface marks, supporting materials or an opening can remain depending on the installation. If you plan a new patio, replacement spa or landscaping, describe the intended handoff rather than assuming removal includes those later stages.

A useful completion check is to compare the approved item list with what was removed and note what remains. On the Peoria side-yard job, the documented result is the spa material removed from that footprint. It does not establish electrical repair, new surfacing or landscaping as part of the photographed work.

Questions before booking

Does switching off the spa count as safe disconnection?

Switching off and safe disconnection are different readiness details. Arrange appropriate professional help where needed and tell Reset the actual condition. Do not handle wiring based on this checklist.

Can I request a quote before preparation is complete?

Yes. Send current photos and explain what remains to be arranged. The removal appointment and method still depend on the confirmed scope, access and readiness.

Is same-day removal guaranteed?

No appointment is guaranteed by this page. Call or text to check the current schedule and explain whether the tub is drained, disconnected and accessible. Same-day service is subject to actual availability.

Get a quote for your actual pickup

Call or text 480-931-9725 with your ZIP code, item photos and the route to the loading area. Tell us what stays, what leaves and your preferred timing. Reset will review the scope and confirm the quote and appointment. Larger or unclear requests may need a closer review before confirmation.
